Matthew will be telling Polish folktales at the Central Library, Leeds between 6:00 pm and 7:45 pm as part of a showcase of Polish music and culture.

Matthew will be telling the story of Lemminkainen - a Finnish folktale from the Kalevala at the Grand Theatre, Leeds. The story forms the basis of Opera North’s new production for young people, The Swan Hunter. Storytelling sessions will be running throughout the day.

Tuesday 7th July 2009
Matthew will be telling grown-up stories again at Seven Arts Centre in Chapel Allerton as part of Seven’s second birthday celebrations.

Wednesday 3rd July 2009
Matthew will be telling stories with a grown-up bent at Barefoot in the Park - a spoken word event in Hyde Park, Leeds. (Look for the marquee on the green).

Matthew will be hosting underwater karaoke at Queer on the Pier - a day-long seaside themed Cabaret with bands, DJs, crazy golf and bunting. 2pm - 2am @ the Burley Liberal Club in Leeds (corner of Burley Road and Cardigan Road). All welcome. Entry £6 - £4. Pay what you feel appropriate.

Entwined
An original dance performance inspired by the curious, fantastical and real stories that revolve around the making of clothes.

A dancer and a dressmaker use cloth, pins, words and bodies to weave stories and create a physical history of movement.

The premiere of Entwined will be performed in the apt and atmospheric setting of Armley Mills with specially composed music providing a rhythmical landscape.

April - May 2009
Matthew will be collaborating with choreographer Rachel Jane Dean, dancer Daliah Toure and costume designer Julia Kalache on a new piece of dance theatre, ENTWINED.

The piece will have its premiere at Armley Mills museum on May 16th.

Saturday 20th December 2008
Matthew will be telling the story of St Nicholas and the Wicked Butcher at Leeds Central Library as part of the Library’s Christmas Fun Day. The event will run from 1:30pm - 3:30 pm. Santa will also be in attendance.

Friday 10th October 2008
Matthew will be supporting Attila the Stockbroker at The Common Place in Leeds. The gig starts at 8pm. Other acts on the bill are Ste McCabe and Gary Kaye.

Saturday 9th August 2008
Matthew will be telling stories from the Chinese Opera at Leeds Central Library from 1:00pm - 1:45pm. Stories will include 'The Dragon's Pearl' and the 'Story of Black Snake and White Snake'. The performance will be part of a family event linked to the newly installed China, Local and Global exhibition.

August 2008
Matthew will be working on an ongoing project with Leeds based arts organisation Pyramid of Arts. The project will run throughout August and will culminate in a public performance at South Parade Baptist Church on Friday the 29th of August. The performance will spring from the idea of bringing the outdoors, indoors and will commence at 1:00pm.

October 2008
Matthew’s show for children, Aesop’s Fables, (a musical, co-written with Pam Wilson) will complete a short tour of youth and community centres in Leeds and the surrounding area, thanks to funding from the National Lottery’s Awards 4 All programme. The shows will be open to the public. More info about the show is available on the Moveable Feast website.
